Acceptable Use Policy

1. Recording, consent and notice #

ReCaptured provides meeting recording, call transcription and in-person audio capture.

You are solely responsible for obtaining every consent required by law before recording any conversation.

Recording and interception laws vary by jurisdiction. Some permit recording with the consent of a single party. Others — including California — require the consent of all parties to the conversation. Requirements differ again outside the United States, and may depend on where each participant is located rather than where you are.

You must:

• Determine which laws apply to each recording, including for participants in other jurisdictions.
• Obtain, and be able to evidence, the consent those laws require, before recording begins.
• Use the platform's consent and notice features where provided, and not disable, bypass or suppress them.
• Stop recording where a participant withdraws consent and that withdrawal is legally effective.
• Never record covertly, or in any place or manner where participants hold a reasonable expectation of privacy.

ReCaptured provides recording tools. It does not determine whether a particular use of them is lawful, and does not obtain consent on your behalf.

2. Protected health information #

The platform must not be used to store, transmit or process protected health information as defined under HIPAA unless ReCaptured has executed a Business Associate Agreement with you in writing.

ReCaptured is not currently certified under HIPAA, SOC 2 or ISO 27001. If your intended use involves protected health information, or another regulated category of data, raise it with us before uploading anything.

3. Prohibited uses #

You must not:

• Upload or transmit unlawful, infringing, defamatory or harassing content.
• Attempt to access another tenant's data, or to circumvent tenancy isolation, access controls, or licence-tier enforcement.
• Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source of the platform.
• Resell, sublicense or provide access to third parties outside a written partner agreement.
• Scrape or bulk-extract data other than through documented interfaces.
• Introduce malicious code, or interfere with the availability or integrity of the platform.
• Use the platform to develop a competing product.

4. Your users #

You are responsible for the conduct of everyone you grant access to, including guests and external participants who join by link.

5. Enforcement #

We may suspend access where we reasonably believe this policy has been breached, and will notify you where we are lawfully able to do so.

6. Changes #

We may update this policy. Customers will be notified of material changes.
